AltStore PAL opens in the European Union

AltStore PAL is live in the European Union. It is the first alternative app marketplace approved by Apple to reach iPhone, and it changes what sideloading actually looks like day to day.

The important part is what you no longer have to do. AltStore PAL installs itself directly on your device. There is no computer in the loop, no Apple ID to hand over, no seven-day countdown before your apps stop opening, and no ceiling of three apps at a time. Apps distributed through PAL are notarised by Apple, and they update from inside the marketplace like you would expect.

Two apps are here on day one. Delta is our all-in-one Nintendo emulator, covering NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS and Nintendo 64. Clip is a clipboard manager that keeps running in the background, which is precisely the kind of app the App Store has never permitted.

Everywhere outside the EU, AltStore Classic carries on exactly as before, installing apps through AltServer on your Mac or PC.
